The worksheet that started everything

If someone asked me where Path to Thrive began, they would probably expect me to point out a logo, business plan, or a website.

But the truth is....

It started with one plain worksheet.

No colorful pages.

No carefully designed pages.

Just one boring black and white page with nothing but words on it.

Just a single chart that asked me one thing:

"How am I feeling today?" At the time, I was just trying to climb out of the hole I was currently in.

I was trying to survive.

After leaving the hospital, I realized something that changed everything. Therapy helped. Medication helped. My support system helped. But there were still 23 hours left in every day where I had to figure it all out on my own.

I needed structure. I needed accountability. I needed somewhere to put the racing thoughts, overwhelming emotions, and little victories that no one else saw.

It wasn't beautiful.

It wasn't perfect.

But it gave me something I desperately needed: a place to check in with myself instead of bottling up what I was feeling.

One page became two.

Two became five.

Soon, five pages turned into over a hundred new pages.

That's when I realized, I could help more people than just myself. So, this isn't necessarily about me anymore. It's about you.

It's about him.

It's about her.

It's about the future...

So when I look back at this original boring old worksheet of mine, I don't see a bad worksheet.... I see hope. Sometimes the most meaningful things don't start with perfection.

They start with one choice.

They start with one step towards healing.

They start one page at a time. And sometimes?

That's enough to change everything.
